Anna Kendrick leaves signed copies of her memoir on the subway

Anna Kendrick is making the daily New York and London public commutes a little more mysterious.

The actress tweeted Tuesday she has joined forces with #BooksOnTheSubway and #BooksOnTheUnderground to give daily commuters a surprise treat; a signed copy of her new memoir, Scrappy Little Nobody. “I’ve been hiding books in the NYC subway with @Booksonthesubway,” wrote Kendrick. “Head to the subway to find some exclusive signed copies!”

This creative act is a fitting tie-in for her first book, as the collection of essays details hilarious and eye-opening moments throughout the first stage of her career, including the Twilight cast’s creepy hotel.

Earlier this month, Beauty and the Beast star Emma Watson participated in the same #BooksOnTheUnderground challenge when she left copies of Maya Angelou’s Mom & Me & Mom on the subway.

Scrappy Little Nobody is available now.
