Neil Gaiman reveals cover, release date for Norse mythology book
Like the protagonist of his iconic comic series Sandman, Neil Gaiman is a master storyteller with a special talent for reinventing and refreshing old stories. Norse myths are a particular favorite of his; gods like Odin and Loki play big roles in most of his major works like Sandman and American Gods.
Fitting, then, that Gaiman is tackling the original Norse myths head-on in a new book, Norse Mythology. On Wednesday, Gaiman announced that the book will officially be out Feb. 17 2017 from W.W. Norton & Company, and revealed the cover. It comes complete with a GIF of Thor’s hammer spinning, but don’t stare at it too long or your head might start spinning too.
It’s published Feb 7th. This is what the cover to Norse Mythology will look like. I can’t guarantee moving hammers. pic.twitter.com/lUuFFeEgA6
